Barnes, Nevada
Barnes is located six miles northwest of Preston on the White River on the Joseph Judd ranch. According to the White Pine News, July 12, 1907 Mr. Judd named the post office Barnes in honor of the first man who took water from the White River for irrigation purposes. A post office was established there July 28, 1902 and continued until February, 1907 when the mail was re-routed to Preston. |
